I wasn’t planning on posting today until I got an email from Amazon promoting its sale on Scott Kelby’s Digital Photography Book, Volume 2. You can buy it right now for $14.99 – I’m pretty sure that I paid $25 for mine.
What’s even better is that Amazon is offering Volume 1 of this series at 40% off for $11.99. I like Volume 1 much better, especially for non-professional photographers just starting out. It explains in detail techniques for getting specific types of shots. And it leaves out the technical aspects and behind the scenes workings of digital cameras – that type of info usually slows me down in my quest to take good pictures of my kids!

oo I have his photoshop book but these sound great, but i am still working on understandig exposure…which i would swear i understand but apparently my camera is still disagreeing with me

I love books! I have been unable to attend any formal classes so far….so books are my lifesaver!!
I have gone thru his PSE book for digital photographers…will check into these as well. He is very funny to read, and it is written in such an easy format. You don’t feel like you are reading a text book

i have not invested in a photography book yet. considering i spend most of my time reading bed time stories like dr. suess, this book would be a nice change!

These are just to books I have wanted; but I frittered my money away on monthly magazines that really don’t offer much substance. I have one Scott Kelby book on Elements and highly recommend his teaching style. A new one is coming after the first of the year on CS4….it is also on my wish list.
Will check this one out. I have Exposure and it’s pretty techy still. I have to really be awake and present – no halfway stuff here to really get it – with camera in hand. THanks for announcing this and for the new PSE 7 contest. You rock, girl.
