Hi Kathleen,

There’s are lots of free actions out there. Which are you referring to? There’s not a blanket answer, unfortunately, for whether all actions will work in PSE 7 & 8 on XP.

Hi Kathleen, I didn’t say that PSE 5 is not compatible with any free actions. I am saying that there are some actions that don’t work in PSE 5 if you’re running XP.

All of the Digital Photography for Moms (now located at http://www.texaschicksblogsandpics.com) are compatible with PSE 5 on XP.

If it’s a free action and you’re not sure if it’s compatible with your software or not, the best thing to do is try it out.

Based on your previous feedback it looks like PSE 5 just is not going to work. Sadly. Will the actions work with PSE 7 & 8 for sure with Windows XP? I just want to be sure I upgrade properly.

I have PSE 5, are you saying that PSE is not compatable with any free actions? I was getting all excited, and now I am afriad I need to spend loads of money and upgrade. Please advise. I have Windows XP 2002 version. Thanks!

Kathy,

Make sure you are using navigating to the Program DATA folder rather than Program FILES. You might have to unhide Program Data. Let me know if that doesn’t work.

I am having trouble installing actions to my PSE 7 Vista. I have your directions, but do not find the file named Photo Creations.
I put action files into plugins/effects but didn’t find in the PSE7.

Any help would be GREATLy appreciated! Looking forward to using the awesome actions – thanks!

Andrea, I just purchased CS4 myself and I am so excited to use it! I’ll always keep up with PSE because it’s easier for many things, but I do like CS4 so far too.

I do have XP. So, that is it, sigh…..I really like PSE 5 and I have used six and don’t like it as much. So, I don’t know if I want to upgrade. I was thinking about looking into CS3, so maybe????

you and Rita are an amazing team. I found Coffee Shop a few months ago when I was looking for free actions. I found you at the same time. I was one of those people that had NO idea how to install an action in PSE. Her actions and your tut’s are amazing, thank you for breaking things down in a simple way! I am in agreement the photoshopping is as fun as snapping the pics : )!!
