For as long as I can remember, Photoshop Elements has had a Welcome Screen that popped up when the program was opened, asking if you’d like to work in the Editor or the Organizer. Older versions would let you turn the Welcome Screen off, so that you could proceed directly to whichever module you wanted to start in regularly.

Unfortunately, PSE 7 doesn’t present the option to turn off that splash screen. Must have something to do with the advertising that appears during your “welcome”!
If you’d like, you can skip right over this welcome screen yourself, however. And it’s easy!
Navigate to your C Drive/Program Files/Adobe/Photoshop Elements 7. Right click on the file PhotoshopElementsEditor and select Create Shortcut. Paste this shortcut onto your desktop and you’re good to go. Double click on it, and the PSE 7 Editor will open directly, with no Welcome Screen.
You can do the same thing with the file PhotoshopElementsOrganizer, if you’d like a shortcut to the Organizer also.
Isn’t it sad that saving the time that it takes to double click once can make a difference in our lives? Use that time to take half a moment for youself.
And have a good Sunday!

What a fabulous, Erin! Totally works for me – YAY:) Thanks!
Huh, I have version 6, so I don’t have that problem! But wouldn’t you know it would be an ad of some sort. That would have been sooo frustrating, and I would never have figured how to get it to stop! Thanks for posting this, I am sure it will help many!
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! That is one of the things that moving up to 7 has been difficult for me, but you solved it. Thank you.
Very Helpful. It was driving me crazy.
