Need Help Running Actions in Photoshop Elements?

{by Erin • Tuesday, December 16, 2008 • 119 Comments}

This post is your 6th opportunity to enter my contest to win a free copy of Photoshop Elements 7/Premiere Elements 7, courtesy of Adobe!  See details at the end of this post.

Thanks to Rita at Coffeeshop Free Actions, we Photoshop Elements users can all use photo-enhancing and time-saving actions to speed up our digital photography workflows.

What did you think the first time you ever tried to use an action?  I was completely overwhelmed and couldn’t figure out how all those layers and layer masks would save me time.  You mean I’m supposed to paint in white here and black there?  Huh?

But after a bit of practice, using actions finally clicked in my head and I love them now!

As a thank you to Rita for her generosity in sharing actions and other goodies, I created a very detailed, step by step tutorial on using her new PowderRoom 2 action.  This tutorial is designed for someone who is new to both Photoshop Elements and actions.  So forgive the minute level of detail – I really hope it helps you use actions efficiently!
